Polyester Fully Drawn Yarn (FDY) is typically referred to as fully drawn polyester yarn. It is a fully stretched multifilament yarn used in the textile industry, similar to Polyester Partially Oriented Yarn (POY) in fine denier and multiple industries. However, FDY is passed through spinning processes at higher rates and is simultaneously subjected to a twisting process. This helps control the yarns in the direction of both denier and crystallization because the typical weaving process remains imprecise.
FDY achieves better results when blended and meshed with POY yarn. FDY can be woven or combined separately or with other yarns to produce a variety of fibers. FDY is available in two different finishes: light lustre and bright lustre
